He lurched forward releasing the axe and sending it spinning towards you. “For it will be the last thing that brings you joy.” He raised his axe and hurled his arm back. You stood as straight as you could and looked Thaedus in his cold, dark, eyes. “I’m still unsure why they say it but it amuses me.” I’m still unsure,” You winced hard as you tried to stand. “There is a saying here on Midgard do not count your fowl before they are hatched. You could hear a low rolling of thunder in the distance. Vanquishing you will be easy and frankly not worth the effort of seeking you out.” The dining hall of this abandoned castle was as eerie as could be and Thaedus’ deep, rumble of a laugh wasn’t making things any better. Thaedus placed his axe on a nearby table. You held up a finger, begging for a moment and out of sheer entertainment he obliged. The fear that you were about to die started to creep into your mind. You struggled to catch the air he forced out of your lungs. “Where is this storm you boasted about?” He kicked you in the stomach, sending you flying backwards and you collided with a stone fireplace. You coughed hard when some of the blood dripped down your throat. “Yeah, that’s not really my line to use.” You spit blood from your mouth and probed at the raw spot in your cheek where your teeth had ripped the skin. “I can do this all-”Īnother fist to the jaw knocked you to the floor. You struggled but kept your fists up as high as you could. Notes/Warnings: lots of talk of blood and injuries, angst, fluff, mentions of death, Sass.
